Why would I try gelato in Japan? Well, I love ice cream. So when I travel, I have to try all the best ice cream spots in that city. And because Osaka is such a metropolitan city, they offer many types of ice cream, including Italian gelato. The Japanese are famous for taking anything from around the world and making it better!
Raffinato gelateria came up during my ice cream research so I had to try it. I tried 3 flavors: Hokkaido flor de latte, Japanese green Muscat grape and white peach. I ordered the most Japanese flavors because I was in Japan! All 3 flavors were awesome! The flor de latte was so rich, creamy and packed with fresh milk flavor. It tasted so simple but delicious. The green Muscat grape was so fresh and floral, it really tasted like you were biting into the best grape that you've ever had. And finally the white peach was so fragrant and sweet, it felt like you fell into a basket of overripe peaches. Yum!
On a hot and humid day like this one in Osaka, a nice cup of cold, sweet gelato is a perfect way to escape the heat. Especially after a long day of exploring a large, beautiful city like Osaka. Moments like this is what I live for. The ice cream that I love is the cherry on top.
